Early Learners Day Nursery rated as 'Good' by Ofsted was opened in 1996. Early Learners is situated on Scarbrook Road which is just off the High Street in Central Croydon.

We aim to create an environment in which children will be safe, stimulated and challenged, places where fun and enjoyment go hand in hand with learning and discovery. We value our relationship with parents and guardians and are committed to working in partnership with them by sharing information, listening and providing parents with peace of mind that their child is given love, attention and care at all times.

At Early Learners we provide activities and experiences which will encourage children to engage in learning about seasons, festivals and their own environment. We follow consistent daily routines which encourages children to express themselves through speech, drawing, music and movement. Our aims are to:

  • Develop self discipline, identifying personal goals and complete self chosen tasks.
  • Work with other children and adults so that work done is a result of group planning and shared leadership.
  • Use their initiative and have discussions about what they are going to do and how they are going to do it.
  • Be creative and have a spirit of enquiry and openness to knowledge and other people’s point of view.

LADYBIRDS: ( 0-24 months) we give babies plenty of time to progress at their own pace, learning to talk, build trusting relationships, crawl, and walk, explore and make discoveries.

CATERPILLARS:(18 months- 42 months) enchanted by everything the world has to offer, the toddlers learn to share and grow in independence.

BUTTERFLIES:( 30-60 months) they develop self esteem and begin to take responsibility for their choices and actions, learning to understand that words and numbers have meanings.

Children are allocated places in the next group subject to the individual child being ready and availabilty of spaces.

All our children are encouraged to respect one another and to delight in linguistic and cultural diversity from their earliest years.

We aim to ensure that the five every child matters outcomes:

To be healthy

To Stay safe

To Enjoy and achieve

To make a positive contribution

To achieve economic wellbeing

are met through the care we give to each child.
